The Turtle Island Conservation Program at the Toronto Zoo partners with Indigenous communities to incorporate Traditional Knowledge into turtle and wetland conservation programming. Turtle Island Conservation has a variety of resources available in
Mohawk and Ojibway languages: Turtle Identifier guides, Frog Calls of Ontario CD, Turtle Crossing signs. We also perform outreach education presentations, shoreline cleanups, and monitoring programs in First Nations’ communities.
