Description

Niagara Turtles is a community-based initiative supporting the recovery of turtle populations across the Niagara Region. Through nest monitoring, public reporting, and collaboration with partners, the initiative helps document nesting areas, mortality hotspots, movement corridors, and other factors affecting turtle survival. When turtles or nests are at risk, Niagara Turtles works with the community to support actions such as egg recovery, controlled incubation, temporary care, and release back to suitable habitat. Community participation plays an important role in protecting wildlife.
