The Canadian Wildlife Federation has an active turtle conservation program. Their main focus is on turtle conservation in eastern Ontario, where they are working to identify new locations for the provincially Threatened Blanding’s Turtle and to increase wetland habitat protection, collecting at-risk turtle eggs for incubation, and reducing turtle roadkill by installing road mortality mitigation fencing at some of the worst hotspots. They also produce outreach materials on how to build nest protectors or what to do if you hook a turtle while fishing.
